The School Nutrition Department consists of a Director, a Supervisor, and two Administrative Assistants. At the school level there are 17 site managers and 84 cafeteria assistants. All employees earn state and local benefits. Seventy-two employees are certified with the School Nutrition Association. Each cafeteria has one or more employees certified in ServSafe, a national program sponsored by the National Restaurant Association. The Director of School Nutrition holds a Continuing Teaching License with North Carolina in the area of Secondary Family and Consumer Sciences Education. All employees participate in monthly and annual staff development activities.
